Devoured by a virus,
Her body fights Osiris.
Brokenhearted blue iris,
Etched into the papyrus.
Stitches stapling the fleck,
Morphine, hits the bloody deck,
Breathing through a bottleneck,
A broken attendance check.
The chemo is the pillar,
Also the white cell killer,
Lost in a painful griller,
Where is god, the pain thriller?
Survival is the end game.
The remnants, who is to blame?

Contagion It was sublime. A reprieve from cancer's slime. My mother's victory we chimed, Fooled by reverse pantomime. Vengeful malignancy confirmed. Her lungs malformed, Carcinoma; her life scorned, A metastasised poison stormed. Where is my mother's lifeline? Why does it have a deadline? We don't know the dateline. But there will be an end-time.
